Autumn Colors
Outside most of the Sonoran Desert, the upland areas of Arizona host native Ash, Aspen, Sycamore, Cottonwood, Hackberry, Willow, Maple, Oak, and Walnut trees that change color in the Fall. In the desert, where the colors appear to change little over the course of the year, the brilliant colors along Riparian areas are gentle reminders that the seasons do indeed change. Autumn in Arizona arrives at different times of the year. The trees in the higher elevations change the earliest, but it can be late November and even December before the leaves in the lower elevations begin to change.
